Black Friday
Top Five Black Friday 2019 Deals from US Best Buy, Target and Walmart Flyers
By Simon Hung
November 18, 2019Black Friday 2019 is less than two weeks away and you can see this year's American deals now in US Black Friday flyers from Target and Walmart! Best Buy US has also unveiled their Black Friday deals on the American Best Buy website, but it's more of a categorized list instead of a traditional flyer.
As per tradition, you'll find plenty of deals on big-name electronics including televisions, video games and smart home tech, but perhaps more importantly -- these flyers provide a glimpse at the products we'll likely see on sale at Canadian retailers once our flyers are released.
We've picked five deals from each retailer to give you an idea of the deals you'll find across the border this Black Friday -- note that all prices reflect US dollars.
Best Buy -- stores open Thursday, November 28 at 5:00 PM

Walmart -- stores open Thursday, November 28 at 6:00 PM
- Apple Watch Series 3 with GPS, 38mm - $129.00 (regularly $199.00)

- Philips 65" 4K Android Smart TV - $278.00
- PlayStation 4 1TB Only on PlayStation Bundle - $199.99 (regularly $299.99)
There are several excellent deals on smaller items like standalone Nintendo Switch games and smart speakers with prices at under $30.00 USD, but as with most previous years, televisions dominate the Black Friday ads for all three American stores, with prices starting at under $280.00 USD for some 65" 4K sets -- for reference, the lowest-priced 65" television with Black Friday pricing at Best Buy Canada is $599.99, though that may be subject to change as more Canadian Black Friday deals are released.

View allEven more an indicator as to why $200-250 should be the regular price for these consoles by now; BF/BD should bring them down even further. Instead Sony and MS are getting away with robbery.
Wait for another deal like this. I ordered my 1TB PS4 for $230 from Bed Bath Beyond after I stumbled upon that thread in Black Friday 2017.
$230 in 2017! I would definitely wait for the actual Black Friday 2019 deals for this console. $200-220 CAD should be a real possibility.
For PS4, I think this will "only" be the second year in a row at this price point; for Xbone S it will be the third where we're seeing it sell for the "doorcrasher" price of $229 Still selling the PS4 for $260 CAD seems pretty bonkers given it's a 6-year-old console now. I mean the PS3, wasn't that around $200 by the time it was 6yrs old? Plus that started out at a way higher price than PS4, yet PS4 is still going for what? Like 60%+ its original price...after 6 years? Crazy.
And why would one "jump on board" PS4 for this ludicrous price when, for practical purposes it has maybe two years left of steam in it, if that? Pay 60% the price for the 20-25% of its lifespan as a current-gen console? At least Xbone S is cheaper and can be used as a UHD-BD player.
Feel bad for the kids these days, more so for their parents. Then again it may be their own stupidity for paying the reg. prices for this stuff, the rest of the year, instead of refusing.
Don't even get me started on the ludicrous controller prices these days--though these tend to go on sale at more reasonable prices more times per year than the consoles.
Things change and you have to keep up on the news.
Again, I am not saying that Sony won't come through, only that they have released similar statements (PS2 compatibility on PS4) that turned out to be a total scam, and required a rebuy through PS2 Classics or a sub to PS Now. Sony is great with playing word games and saying one thing, yet we later find out it means another.
Personally, I think there will be some form of PS4 BC, but a limited version that only works on a selection of games, and Sony will falsely blame the new haptic controller for not allowing XYZ games to work.

You should really keep up on current news, as Sony's latest (like 2-4 weeks ago) reports show Sony hedging their bets on PS4 compatibility and virtually every gaming pub has posted a story on it. Sony may still come through on the customer's side (for once), but they also might pull another scam like the "PS2 compatibility", whereby it was through a re-buy of PS2 Classics for PS4, NOT the ability to play existing PS2 games you already own. Or the statements of the "PS4 is already PS3-compatible... and we are able to do that through PS Now".
https://www.gamesradar.com/ps5-backwards-compatibility/
"a representative from Sony Interactive Entertainment's Public Relations unit stated that the PS5 "dev team is putting all power on verifying whether they can secure a complete compatibility. Please wait for more information."
At this point (assuming the PS5 ever gets free BC for digital and discs) I would bite the bullet and just start saving for next-gen.
https://www.gamesradar.com/ps5-backwards-compatibility/
"Essentially, there's still a lot of questions surrounding PS5 backwards compatibility, how it will work, the extent of the supported library, and whether it'll be a free feature, or part of Sony's PS Plus subscription service."
Previous and erroneous PS5 BC articles have been updated with terms like "seemingly" and "possible" - not saying Sony won't come through, but they've screwed up before (the PS4 BC with PS2 for example) and for the record, the company has NEVER officially iron-clad promised full PS4 BC nor has this been part of their official specs.
Anyway you get what you want. Live the dream. Only one life to live. As for me eh not in the position to get that many tvs right now that I would need.
1. Someone eying this deal wants to play some games now.
2. Anyone who has not bought a PS4 yet is highly unlikely to be a PS5 early adopter.
3. The PS5 will be $600-700 CDN + games. PS4 hits like these will be $20-30 each.
This place sometimes.... but thanks for the ‘information.’

Philips 65" Class 4K Ultra HD (2160p) Android Smart LED TV with Google Assistant (65PFL5604/F7)
At $279 USD, it's almost worth the waste of money to make it happen.
Thinking about getting the same one. Not sure at the moment if it's only a in store special.
Is so, I might get this one on sale at Best Buy USA for $199.99, comes with free Amazon Echo Dot. Any thoughts on this tv. Thanks.
