    • The prices of the games is the #1 reason I don't have a switch. I could have gotten one for 250,000 PC points on BF, but I'm not willing to pay $60-$80 for decent games. I have a PS4 and if you're willing to wait a year or two, you can get AAA games for $20 or less.
Definitely, couldn't believe my eyes when I saw last year's God of war for $10 (Canadian dollars!) this BF.

    • Meh... I remember last year I got Fire Emblem Warriors for $19, Starlink for Switch at $29 from EB Games during boxing days, and they were many other good deals for Nintendo Switch game at $50 (I got Mario Tennis for that price in BB, but it was also that price in EB Games). Now this year the game are 59$ instead of the previous discount of 49$. The few games that interested me I already got them in BF or even before when Amazon had some deals (like for Kingdom Hearts 3 or Kingdom Hearts the story so far).

It seems EB Games, BB all have meh deals... hoping Amazon had something more interesting but I dont have so high hope :-(.
Amazon rarely has fantastic sales. Particularly with games, I find they usually just match the competition and nothing more. On the odd occasion, they have a deep discount on some hidden gems they want to get rid of but beyond that, they dont stand out on price.

    • pretty cold. maybe Metro Exodus for $19.99 is the only thing i saw that seemed a new low.

most of those prices you can get now, at least via the digital sales already underway.
My friend if u want this game u can get it right now $19.99..is already on sale..nearest ebgame store..I was thinking of picking it up..but..mehh..metro, not a fan..Cheers..

As for ebgames, boxing sale..pathetic..looks like they really want 2 go bankrupt ☹

    • That's...what I said? It's set up to allow any combination of PS4/Xbone/Switch games and ignores 3DS/Vita/etc.
Oh wow, head smack ... early morning brain freeze ... apologies!

    • Worked fine for me. I bought 2 PS4 games and 2 Switch games, got the 40% discount without hassle. Perhaps some stores pull this trick if they think they can get away with it.

Or, more likely, some sales staff are confused/uninformed.

So my 3 PS4 and 1 3DS game combo originally only triggered the Buy 3 Save 30% level and they ended up having to manually discount each one so it was 40% off.

Right 2 PS4 and 2 switch games, so 4 current gen /most popular system games and promo applies automatically

    • Systematically, they only set up the Buy More Save More to apply to PS4, Xbone, and Switch games. I bought 3 PS4 games and 1 3DS game and it didn't trigger the discount, and when they checked that's how it worked. In the end they gave me the 40%, because it doesn't list the restrictions, but beware if that's your strategy.
(Edit ... ignore me ... misread)

    • Is that Switch bundle new or old hardware?
      Old version my friend.

    • Still can't get myself to trade up to a PS4 Pro or Xbox One X for what they want considering they don't do 4K very well. If only I would have kept my SDM Points this past year and sold my current console then I'd have it. SDM (Shoppers Drug Mart) the best for PS4 Pro this year. I can't remember if they had an Xbox One X deal but ...

As for games at EB Games eh going to be hard to resist getting Rise of the Tomb Raider at that price ...

but then I want NHL 20 somehow and thinking of buying that digital to save a few.

    • Nintendo deals are always a complete joke. Games that are many years old go on “sale” for $20 off. The system itself is outdated by now and still being priced for nearly the same price as a Pro or One X.
They do this on purpose to train the consumer to just buy at launch. There's no point in waiting years for sales.

This strategy also fuels the collector market that Nintendo has fostered.

All of this is done very intentionally.

    • That last one might be pretty hot - there doesn't appear to be any restrictions on which system the used games belong to. So if you only want one or two recent games, throw in a couple <$2 PS3/XB360 games and get 40% off everything!
So just to clarify on this, because it happened to me when they ran it on Black Friday...

    • They are still selling used copies of Destiny 2 for $9.99
      Come on Ebgames...
They never saw Destiny's F2P future and probably took in way too many copies, feels like they've been putting this one for $9.99 for a while now along with not taking anymore copies of Destiny 2 for trade in. Even at 0.99, is it worth it?

    • Switch has quality games. I’ve played it much more than PS4 and xbox one. Fire emblem took up over 100 hours, loved Mario odyssey, the Zelda’s , and many more. I found most other platforms I just wanted to beat and move on from to get them over with. I’m not a fan boy, but I really love the games on the switch.

Definitely agree. Needs a price drop.

But this BF they supposedly sold more than ever before in a single week. So, although I'm not happy about it, they seem to know what they're doing...

I agree, Nintendo prices are out to lunch, especially on games that are like 2 years old.

    • Do they have hit games for $9.99 like they had for BF ?
Nothing in the flyer, but eb always does more deals than listed online and instore from past experiences.

    • That used game promo sounds pretty good - buy 3 x $15 games for $25 (up to 44% savings), 3 x $25 games for $45 (up to 40% savings), 3 x $30 games for $55 (up to 39% savings). Less hot if the games you get are lower than the threshold price.

I think this year's Boxing Day is fairly lackluster
