    • Looks like they over sold and now can't fulfil the orders in time. Sounds to me like an exec upstairs made the decision to sell as much as they can and worry about fulfillment issues later. Even with the higher number of cancellations most will wait it out to get what they consider to be a "deal".

    • I freaking order a single item from best buy after 3 years and this is what I get.. wtf...and yet called Black Friday lol...

"Thanks for placing a backorder request for Dell 24" 60Hz 2ms LED Gaming Monitor (SE2417HGR) - Black. We're sending you this message to let you know what will happen next.

As soon as more inventory is available we'll ship it out to you and notify you via email so you'll know it's coming. We'll make sure to provide an update by December 09, 2019, and you can find the most up-to-date information on your order through your Order Status page.

We appreciate your patience and thank you for choosing Best Buy!

Got my thank you for my patience email today also. The laptop I purchased has vanished into the Best Buy inventory system ether. This would have been helpful info on Saturday the 30th, so I could have bought something else, from somewhere else on Monday.

"We're sorry, but we're currently out of inventory so we've backordered this product. We're doing everything we can to get more stock as soon as possible, and we'll give you an update by December 10, 2019.

Again, we apologize for this and appreciate your patience.

      Thanks for choosing Best Buy,

    • I assume like most retailers, Best Buy often ships bundled items separately?

Ordered three items, and I have received one of them. The only thing that concerns me is the shipment status on Best Buys website says "shipment 1 of 1".

    • That sounds like my story from best buy on a normal non-busy day in the summer when there were maybe 5 customers in the store. The person suggested I order on line. So I did, from Amazon where the price was cheaper and prime meant I had it in-hand the next day. Then I contacted their district manager who acted very concerned, said they'd look into it and get back to me. And that was the last I ever heard from them.

All these brick and mortar stores complain about Amazon and act like the in-person experience is worth some extra cost. But when it's just so much more pleasant a shopping experience from Amazon, why would anyone pay more to go in person? And Amazon hardly has stellar customer service, so it's such a low bar and they're they're still winning.
At the end of the day, no matter what they say, they have a much larger preference for employees that can sell their Geek Squad plans than anything else. It's honestly a joke.

    • Went to BestBuy yesterday.....didn't even buy anything...most things I picked up on Thursday online.

I asked a staff member for some help to locate something that said was in stock, he told me "If you can't find it....neither can I". Awesome customer service!....so I ordered online from Amazon and will be here tomorrow.

    • He's not lying though. Their inventory system is garbage. It doesn't differentiate between what's actually out on the floor and what could be in the backroom, plus they make so many random bulk outs without telling anyone in the home department that it's there that you're legitimately better off just circling the store yourself.
Random bulkouts, haha, yes! So random

Looking at computers and there’s like a dyson vacuum bulk out. Then one time they had lightning cables baskets outside google home minis and smart home stuff. The alignment could be so much better

    • Picked up the Onkyo NR787. Same price as the U.S. right now and an awesome receiver!
Would you say this is one of the best deals for receivers this weekend? I'm just looking for something for a 5.1 on my main floor with possible expansion

    • I got an email from Best Buy yesterday with a coupon for 15% off a toner/ink cartridge purchase as a "thank you for your printer purchase", and it's addressed to me by name.

I haven't bought a printer from Best Buy this decade.

There's no order under my account on the website so that's fine, but like...what?

    • I called bestbuy for a price drop and the call took an hour and 50 minutes. I was on hold for a hour and 43 minutes. The agent said she'll refund the difference and would escalate it to get the refund for the difference on the warranty. I'm glad I don't work for the call center that does Bestbuy anymore, especially since they're not getting holiday pay for today but will be getting significantly more calls and probably bitched at to make them as short as possible.
Last year, I bought a 4k monitor and gaming keyboard for about $600 total at BB. They both ended up significantly cheaper at Amazon. After about 10 mins on hold with BB while expecting Amazon to go OOS any second, I just ordered both items from Amazon. I waited for the BB shipment to arrive and then returned it to the store. In store, they asked why I didn't call customer service for a price adjustment. It took a great deal of self-control to calmly explain why to them.

I think someone high up at BB believes long hold times will make customers give up and pay the higher price. The reality is it will just drive more returns and lost business.

    • I was pleasantly surprised. Got to a Best Buy at 6:10am today and was able to walk straight in. Got everything I wanted and left about 10 minutes later. Compared to other Black Fridays it wasn’t a zoo like previous years.
Same at 7am - grabbed the $199 Insignia. They had lots. No lines. Easy on my way to work.

My mom will be very happy!

    • I have been on hold for 1 hour 6 minutes after they said about 42 minute wait. I'm surprised how many people are calling considering it's not a holiday today and most people probably work on Fridays. That or the call center is very understaffed today. I don't want to lose my spot but also don't want to wait and i don't trust their call back feature

Now I'm confused / debating. Aready pulled the trigger on the Denon AVRX3600H for $800 from Best Buy. Now I see this, as well as:

      Onkyo TX-RZ630 (B-Stock) for $400; and

      Onkyo TX-RZ820 7.2 AV Receiver – B-Stock for $550

What do you guys think is the better deal? I am not too fussed about it being B-stock.

    • Not going to debate the usefulness of paying for AV, but Bitdefender Total Security is a good deal at $24.99. Previously used to be able to get that price directly from Bitdefender but I’ve only seen $34.99 from them.
I had it for 1 year and deleted it even before the expiry. I like Eset products more

    • Ask for a price adjustment and if they say no just return the one you already bought and then buy the new one for the cheaper price.
I ordered it online so I could just buy it at the store assuming they have stock and then just cancel it. Or at least reorder it and cancel the first order

      Edit @09:27

      According to their website
Pre-orders, Backorders and Items Scheduled for Delivery
The Low Price Guarantee does not apply to pre-orders from other retailers. But if the price of an item at Best Buy drops before or at the time of shipment, you will automatically pay the lower price. You're not charged until the time of the product's shipment.
I'm going to still contact them but it seems that even though I was authorized for the $1499.99 plus tax price I would be charged the $1399.99 plus tax price.

      Edit @ 10:10

The price is actually $130 less because I got a 4 year warranty which will go down since it's based on the price and not the size of the product.

    • Stupid question but I ordered this Samsung 65"4k QLED TV yesterday for $1499.99. I ordered it yesterday morning at around 140 am instead of today because in their flyer it said it was going to be 1499.99 so I didn't bother waiting until today. Well I just checked today and it's $1399.99. Do I have a chance of getting the $100 refunded since in their flyer they had a higher price and that I didn't know I was going to save money and that I would have ordered it today if knew it would be cheaper.
