    • For you guys that are considering the Denon avrs750h... I was able to price match with Amazon refurb at 349.99$ at the Mississauga Mavis BB.

      I paid $395.49 total. I am a happy camper.

Darn! Home Depot is right next to Best Buy where I am. Gonna try that before I pick up my order!

    • thanks, trying to figure out a way to set up a PC action that boots my PC. Not sure if extra hardware is needed.
Depends on the PC. Few will boot via ir out of the box. Some can be brought back from sleep. The way the smart control works, normally, is that the remote talks to the hub ( not via ir) then the hub sends out the appropriate ir signal. There are exceptions such as with a Shield TV or Firestick. There the hub is paired to the units via Bluetooth and shows up as a keyboard. Maybe that might be a way of dealing with a PC?

    • Quick question: does the two-pack contain two versions of the same camera that you get when you buy the single camera? I'm asking because the single Nest Cam Outdoor is $250 and the two-pack is usually $383. That's a pretty big discount buying two at a time, so I'm unsure if the two-pack is an older version or something.
      yes

I just ordered the 2pk of nest cameras. This isn’t a crazy sale, it’s the standard one on this product. But since they are guaranteeing no cheaper price on BF I figured I’d jump.

And if they are pulling some scam by putting it cheaper on Cyber Monday (which shouldn’t be a thing!) then I’ll just buy and return since we are in the window.

Seems a pretty safe bet to buy now if you want them before winter

Ya, I am looking at getting the best value TV for ~$300-$400. I have a bunch of rewards from different programs scattered and Best buy was the only common retail gift card for them. Everything besides PC Optimum that is... Don't know what to do with those.

I see the asus on sale which is $449?
But also saw staples had the 5300 model for $400

There is one here for $180

    • Same here.... I actually bought the Nest Hello + Hub almost a month ago for the bundle price of 299 + 15% off.... I have about 2 more days before my return period ends :(...

Also... is the 2pk Nest cam a good deal? $60 off from the regular 383... only recently started tracking this when I found out ppl been checking for unlocked cars overnight on my street :(
Solid deal for the nest cam, I paid around the same price last year. I've only hooked up one camera so far though, still unsure where to put the other one.

For ease of setup, overall value, and great all around performance, range and stability, go for a Google wifi mesh setup.

    • If anyone is looking for a good top load washer, I was eyeing the LG WT7300CW (slightly larger version of the WT7100CW and has WiFi). It's been 845-849$ for weeks (months maybe) at most retailers ; I was hoping for a deal on it @ Costco today as they have a bunch of LG deals starting today (use LGBF19 in search bar) but pretty much ALL retailers have bumped the price for this unit overnight from 849 to 949 ... Except Best Buy. Assuming so that this is they can "reduce it" by 100$ on BF and make it sound like this is a deal when really it'S not.

So you can either get the washer for 10% off with APPVIP code. Or try price matching elsewhere today (e.g. Home Depot ; if they were to honor the 10% off code from Best Buy + Price match, would be a sweet deal). If you're in Ontario, 25% off on top of that.

    • Do they have the same one-touch function like the Sony's where it turns off music and turns on ambient sound?
They do, and it works much better on Bose imo based on testing them both for a bit — you hold down the button for 2 seconds to activate, so it looks a less dorky than keeping your hand on the earcup for the entire conversation.

The microphone system is also way better, so the transparency mode feels like you’re not wearing headphones at all while the Sony’s sound quite artificial as if you’re listening to the outside world through a few layers of processing.

Still, quite a price delta now with Sony on sale...

    • sony's were released last year so the discount is steeper, but the sound quality and noise cancellation is either the same or slightly better than the Bose, so it'll come down to fit preference.

The 700's were released this year so you wont see them at the same price as Sony's.
Do they have the same one-touch function like the Sony's where it turns off music and turns on ambient sound?

also why do they have such bad ratings on Amazon?

    • Any thoughts on the Dyson deal?

Or should I wait for something better or a newer version.

Only need it for a condo.
It is only a deal if you insist on buying new, otherwise it is a pass and just wait for Dyson refurbs on eBay to have another sale.

The only differences I can see would be an extra 1 year warranty , and a mini motorized tool if you buy it new.
No option of a return for the refurb.

The reg price for the refurb (V7B) is $280 it goes down to the ~$225 price several times a year

    • I almost bought this two weeks(maybe 3) ago when it came down to $449. Every retailer out there at the time was asking $799-$999 for this device. I do think I'll pick it up thursday. I personally have never owned a Denon, but heard that they are pretty good. They used to be higher quality as with Marantz(their parent co) but both companies have gone somewhat downhill but they still tend to be more well regarded than Yamaha/Sony/Pioneer/Onkyo...though that's also depending on the model. For $399 I don't think you can get dissappointed. Should drive a mid range speaker package just fine too. If they keep the polk deal they have right now it's also $300 off the $599 speaker package. This is not a mid range system though, it's pretty meh, but for $299 for a 5.1 setup...who's gonna complain there either.
Also looking at this. The house we're moving into in a few weeks has a full on home theater, minus receiver. Being a complete noob to this, I'm unclear on whether it needs a 9.2 or 7.2 channel though. Do we have into January to return if it doesn't fit the bill?

P.s. what's the quickest way to figure out what I need - count speakers?
