-The build is beautiful. The sapphire crystal, titanium car and ceramic back are premium quality.
-The rubber strap is comfortable, but can easily be swapped for an after-market 22mm one. It is also not as heavy as I expected. I have smaller wrists as a guy, but it doesn't look over-sized. For some women it might look awkward on their wrist.
-The battery will not last the full two weeks when many apps are turned on, but 7-10 days is way better than the competition. Wireless charging is blazingly fast.
-There are a limited number of apps available, but almost all the ones available are the ones I want.
-There are a seemingly an infinite number of watch faces available, and a huge number are free.
-For a tiny device, the speaker is really clear and loud.
-Even in direct sunlight the face is bright enough to compensate.
-The GPS, barometer, altimeter, gyroscope, heart rate monitor, distance and steps counter are all very accurate, but the sleep monitor info should be taken with a grain of salt.
-Bluetooth functions perfectly and can go up to 13m (40'), depending on the environment.
-A premium-behaving watch with most of the capabilities of it's competition, for a very good price.
Drawbacks
-The only way to respond to a text is through an app called Mood Messenger, and you need to pay for the premium version. I have not, so I don't know how well it works.
-You can't try out a watch face before buying, and the description of a face often tells you almost nothing about it's functions, such as which shortcuts it has and what some of the numbers and gauges mean. The $1.50 watch face above on the left has all the shortcuts I want, but the $4.50 one on the right, which looks more handsome to me, does not. It would have been nice to know before hand.
-No wifi capability, but that wasn't a deal-breaker for me.
-It can't display an actual map or calendar, though those two things might be difficult with it's limited memory. It will alert you to things you've entered into the calendar on your phone though, and is good at walking or driving directions assistance.
Overall this watch exceeded what I was expecting!
After 10 months of owning this watch there are several things to add:
-None of the functions or performance has discernably gone on a downward trend, including battery longevity (I'm not surprised with the battery, because it lasts so long I only charge it a handful of times a month)
-I seem to have a knack for putting minor scratches on watch faces, but so far not this one. The bump in scratch-resistance ability from mineral crystal or substances such as Seiko's Hardlex crystal to (synthetic) saphire is significant, and only people who treat watches as disposable shouldn't care.
-One thing that I didn't understand the significance of was why Huawei chose to have the flat surface of the crystal also cover the bezel. It isn't just because it looks better (which it does). The raised bezels on many other watches is to protect the crystal. However, exchanging my watch with my friend's Garmin for a few hours I noticed myself getting annoyed at the raised bezel getting in the way of making "clean" swipes across the screen. It's personal preference and some may need a beast of a sports watch that can take high levels of abuse. I prefer the direction Huawei took the GT2 Pro. (By the way, some caution against titanium cases because titanium is a relatively soft--but very light--metal compared to some other substances. Again, there are still no dings or scratches in mine, and it looks as handsome as ever.)
-Huawei has moved on to the GT3 with the new Harmony OS, but surprisingly they are still providing updates and improvements on the GT2's Lite OS, particularly with the phone app. I'm still finding new features after updates, when I fully expected them not to bother. Hey Apple, you could learn a thing or two from how Huawei treats its legacy customers. Also, I have more than enough choices for watch faces at this point, but more are still being added all the time, presumably by customer/developers.
-Beware, there have been no significant additions or improvements to the apps available for the watch, and that's not going to change. No developer is going to spend money and time to develop apps for an OS that has now been supplanted. I knew this was how it was going to be before I bought the watch, so no big deal. I would still like the calculator to be able to do unit conversions, though, and the DIY "add any pic" as your watch would be nice if it came in analog instead of just digital. Seriously though, how cool is it to have a picture of your kids or girlfriend as your watch face? I've even added logos of my favourite sports teams...betcha they won't get me for trademark infringement!
All in all, after almost 10 months I still feel the GT2 Pro was the best choice for me. However, I can see myself being tempted by another Huawei when they get up to the GT5 in a few years...

For those of you in Canada like myself, update your firmware… the app works seamlessly with my iPhone. I have read complaints about others only having 10 preinstalled watch faces but with the latest firmware I have access to a “ton” of watch faces. Any syncing issues I had were all a result of settings on my iPhone that I was easily able to adjust. I love this watch!
It's not as smart as the Apple or Android wear watches but it does just enough and a week with out charging makes up for that.
Now the bad.
The Huawei health app for Canada does not have watch faces so you are stuck with 10 preloaded ones only. There is a work around to use the Chinese version but it is a pain. Really disappointing. I realize Canada and Huawei have issues but don't take it out on the consumer!
Also only one band is included unlike versions for other countries.
I have owned an Apple watch, Android wear watch and the original Pebble watch. This is my favourite so far even though it can't do as much. Battery life is no longer an issue.
Dosen't have to many app like Samsung but I really don't care!
Also you can make a call and recived from the watch with very clear sound and you can download songs straights on the watch and conect with headset without using the phone
Thanks Huawei
