Been waiting awhile to pick up a pair of these under $400... But the longer I wait, I feel like the closer we are to a possible XM5 release. I wonder if a possible newer version will be substantially better given the change to WFH... hmmmm... decisions, decisions...

+1 op for the effort. But I have a feeling that these will hit 299 during the actual Black Friday sale. These are great headphones btw , so if you want it now, this is a decent deal.

Not sure if it will drop more because same price as last year and there may be supply chain issues. (not that we need to debate about it)

Your first post is fine, just add the price in the title.

Still can't justify spending $400 on headphones. The price point is crazy IMO

Can you connect using Usb-C cable to a PS5 controller or do I need to use an adapter for 3.5mm?

The USB Type-C port is for charging only.

You will need to use the supplied headphone cable to connect to the PS5 controller audio jack.

I'm travelling for a couple of months before black friday so I might just pull the trigger on this.

What else are on sale? I don't really like the way these sound and I'm sure I'm not alone.

You can save a lot by not getting anc and/or wireless.

It's a good headphone but I found my ears way too hot wearing these for just 30 mins. Good that I borrowed my dad's XM4 to try before I buy. If you have never tried these type of headphones, I suggest you try them out first before shelling out $400 for one.

Or by not buying Sony. I got a pair of Taotronics with ANC, BT 5.0 with AptX and USB fast charging headphones for like $70 on Amazon early 2020. Yes the sound is not audiophile perfect but the price delta between that and this is crazy.

On the higher end, when you have options like the Jabra Elite 85h which start at this "sale price" and there is even one on sale right now for $190, the marginal difference in sound just really isn't worth it. Sony is basically just overpricing and then constantly having $100 off sales to make it look more attractive.

+1
I can also confirm that these to get uncomfortably warm. ANC is excellent with the Sony’s.

In audiophile world this isn't even that much.

This is my eternal problem with headphones, let me know if you ever find a good pair that keeps your ears cool.
