[IKEA] [Black Friday] Ikea black friday events (going green)

Ikea is having Black Friday sale throughout November.

Nov 1-14: You can sell your used ikea furniture at 1.5x sell-back value for in-store credit. I'm not sure what the usual sell-back value is so this may or may not be a good deal?

Nov 20-28: veg balls are buy one, get one 50% off

Nov 26-29: additional 25% off of circular hub (as-is section) items!

Nov 27: bring old electronics to IKEA store between 10am - 4pm and get $25 off of $150 coupon (valid until Dec 4).

Does anyone know if we can get an estimate before we lug the furniture in?
Is there a price list that one can get?
What is considered acceptable and what is not?

Seems to align with the CEO's 'sorry about our limited stock' email earlier this week. They're hoping to infuse As-IS with the sellback collection earlier in the month?

It says you submit photos then they get back to you with an assessment and approval. Then you would take it in.

So now not only do you have to assemble your own furniture, you have to disassemble your own furniture?

yes, you give them a brief description of the item and send some photos. ikea gives you a quoted value and if you agree, you simply bring in the item.

fair warning, Ikea stuff usually is worse to dissemble than to assemble if need be.

From their website :
If your application is approved, bring your fully assembled IKEA item to your selected store, along with your IKEA Family card and unique application code to get your in-store credit.
So no need to worry about disassembling anything

Actually, it has to be assembled when returned to qualify. The accepted list of products is relatively short and limited to smaller items that shouldn't need much, if any, disassembly to transport (tables & chairs, bookcases, dressers, desks, etc).

What's the advantage of sell back even at that rate over craig lists? Specially since it's only store credits.

Why did they change the name for the AS-IS section to Circular Hub?

FYI there are no returns on them, just exchanges

So unless youre ready to committ your $ to IKEA then you can forget about them for mattresses
