Disney+ Disney Plus: $1.99 Per Month for Three Months, New & Returning Subscribers Only! $1.99 Per Month for Three Months!

this offer is expired

If you're not a current Disney+ Subscriber, you'll want to sign up now! Through March 14, new and returning Disney+ subscribers can sign up for just $1.99 a month for three months. After your promotional rate ends, the subscription "auto-renews at then-current monthly retail price" -- it's worth noting that Disney is using that language intentionally, as the current monthly price in Canada is $11.99, but Disney is increasing the price of their regular streaming subscription to $14.99, and adding an ad-supported version that will cost $7.99/month. With this introductory rate, you will renew at the regular, ad-free rate of $14.99/month. If you're interested in the office buy wary about renewing at $15/month, you can always set a calendar reminder to cancel before rate expires in June.

There's lots of new content launching on Disney+, including Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version), which will be free to stream on March 15!

    • Thanks OP I signed up tonight! The ads aren’t that bad, I got a total of 3 15-30 second ads across 2 episodes of Tengoku Daimakyo. (Anime)
PS: if you watch in Brave browser, it skips the ads.

My screenshot was from a browser so you should have been able to see it as well.

Make sure you're not using a VPN set to USA because USA Disney+ does not have access to the Star Channel.

    • will it auto new anyways, if I cancel before the three mouths end?
You can cancel anytime before your renewal date, even 1 day before renewal and it won't renew for next month. To be on safe side I would just cancel as soon as your 3rd month starts and they bill you for 3rd month.

Ex. If you start today (March 13), your 3rd month would start on May 13, so you can cancel on May 13 as soon as you get billed for 3rd month. You'll still enjoy full month of streaming (until June 13), but at least you won't have to worry about forgetting to cancel.

A whole months of entertainment for less than a large Double Double, can’t beat that!
Put up some rabbit ears and you get unlimited entertainment for free? Have a look at the catalog, it might not be everything one is looking for

    • Whats wrong with 1080p? It’s perfectly fine for casual viewing experience. I know a lot of people are still okay with 720p not even 1080p. And you make it sound like 1.99/month is a lot to swallow. Just to remind you 1 hour of street parking is around $4-5 these days lol.

    • They need to have a tier with ads and 4K, maybe charge $5 or something.

I refuse to pay for 1080p content in 2024.

    • I'm not sure if it's the Disney app on LG TVs or AdGuard DNS, but haven't seen a single ad even though they show the dots where they're supposed to be when I pause. Worth a shot of anyone is interested in trying that.

    • That's absolutely not true. Removing episodes certainly happens with streaming platforms. Have a look at South Park for example.

That's why having your own Plex server is getting more and more important.
That's not what they said. They said parts of shows were chopped out to make room for broadcast. Movies had scenes cut out to make room for the ads for the broadcast. I remember first noticing this decades ago in a James Bond film when an entire chase scene was removed from the movie.

    • Even with ads on streaming platforms, the big difference is you get 100% of the shows. When it was left to the broadcast and cable networks, they chopped out parts of many shows to get more commercials in.

    • I just signed up yesterday. Went to play an episode of a show, started with a 25 second ad. Halfway through the episode, a 12 second ad. Finished the episode and another ad started. Turned it off.
Not bad at all for 1.99/month. Total ads per episode is maybe like 90s and it's very reasonable imo.

    • Actually, not too bad, to my surprise. Occasionally a 30 second spot. Maybe one or two times in an hour.
I just spent an hour trying various vpn's to signup for the Columbia Netflix... None of the free ones I tried on my phone work. But it shows the length ones will try to go though to avoid the ads without paying full price.

Fortunately my foreign Disney+ account still works. But I imagine they'll soon block payments just like Netflix did.

People will probably find out March 14 when Disney implement password sharing restrictions for Hulu and ESPN.

Not too bad actually. Maybe one or two 30 second spots in an hour. If that. Sometimes there are none. Seems to be a bit random.

Wonder how bad the ad times are going to be, hopefully not like YouTube.
