    • I wonder this too, and I don't know for certain, but the way the way I saw the transaction appear is with a +$X GC and a -$X credit, so they will probably refund only the item you return and charge back the GC amount if you don't return it in full? Can't imagine the greediest company on the planet would allow you to get away with free money.
      On my bill the cost of the thing I purchased was reduced by 70$ and then I had an additional charge for a 70$ gift card. So if you returned the device you'd get the reduced amount refunded I imagine and you'd still have the gift card.

      Yes, on the invoice I see the cost of the item less the cost of the gift card and then a separate line for the cost of the gift card itself, but my credit card has only been charged for the amount of the item not the additional cost of the gc.

    • homepod with $140 is a good deal for what you get in terms of hardware. I have one from last year and was thinking that I might want to make it a pair, but then I thought....I'm not buying anything more until they unlock the device to handle third party services like Spotify. Not getting as much use out of it as I thought.
      Homepod for $140 off was a no brainer for me. I already have 2 and added another one. Comes out to $259 which is pretty on par for the best US price ($199) ever.

An Apple Watch band is $60. Are you kidding me?

      I ordered a HomePod as well because after the $140 “discount” it is a pretty compelling deal to pass up considering how good they sound.       They really patronize their customer base and I don’t know if I should be mad at them or the gullible people who capitulate.

      I was at the apple store at Fairview mall this past weekend and I noticed a very distinct behaviour from their staff. They have a really militant way to retail. I just seemed so called and sterile to me.

      Ok I will admit their new m1 products are really compelling. I am intact in their ecosystem because it’s simply better than what windows or android has to offer but man, to say their retail experience leaves a lot to be desired would be an understatement. All the people that shop there are like cultists.

      Unfortunately, you have to keep track of the Air Miles you are accumulating around this time of the year as they are very slow to post. I write down all the Air Miles I accumulate for November and December as I tend to accumulate most of my Air Miles at this time.

      I went through airmilesshops both times. On Friday, they offered 10X Airmiles and today it's 15X Airmiles. I'm going to hold on to the new gift card to buy a mac next year. I've been waiting for quite some time for a deal like this. So I basically spent about $800 (tax incl.) for three HomePods, which is a 40% discount!

      Sounds right, since your are charged for the gift card, they are lowering the cost of the item purchased.

      Answered in the Terms & Conditions

      Returns and exchanges are subject to the policy of the Qualifying Location where the purchase was made. The Apple Store Gift Card received with the purchase of an Eligible Product must be returned with such Eligible Product in order to receive a full refund for that purchase. If the Apple Store Gift Card is missing, is not returned or has been redeemed, the full original value of the Apple Store Gift Card will be deducted from the exchange or refund of the Eligible Product.
