    • Expiry date November 22? It’s not Black Friday yet, maybe we can expect another BF flyer
there will be another BF flyer next week but the items on this flyer is guaranteed to be not lower on black friday.
if you see something you like, buy now, because it's not going to be cheaper, or might not even be on sale next week.

    • Instead of spending $$ on games which are on sale - mainly FC24, EA WRC , F1 2K3 for XBOX Series X, and being disappointed, is it better to get the MS Ultimate Gaming Pass and this way try out the games without paying for it?

Any cons to the above? Even if I don't like the game, I can't return it. If I trade it in at Gamestop, I'll get a low TIV for it.

      Thanks
Not sure if you noticed but Canadian Tire would be selling the car seat at the same price just the next day on. I checked nearby stores and CT stores do have more stock than Walmart stores. I'm wondering if any of these stores offer price match/refund like Best Buy's holiday returns. Would appreciate if someone could help navigate.

Yeah I didn't venture out and wanted to plunge already lol. Oh well. I don't have enough points. I only have $50 worth of points from SDM.

Can confirm this is the PS5 slim. Detachable disk drive, 2 USB type C ports on the front and yes it is slim. Woohooo. Time to play PlayStation. I picked up the God of War Bundle in March / April of last year but HAD no time to play due to my job that I travelled out of the country/province frequently. Gotta love Incident Response. Now I am good.

    • $2.88 for SuperTech (green) washer fluid? Still pricey considering that it was $1.xx last year. 😲 Rich get richer. Top 1% made $12.5M+ last year (from media reports).
Yes Super tech was $1.77 last year... cheaper to go to Canadian tire $9.99 for a box of 4.

    • I see they still have the Google Chromecast HD w.GTV (the cheaper 1080p model) for $29.98. That's not a bad deal, but for some reason Walmart doesn't sell their own US$19.98 Onn 4k GTV in Canada (clone of the more expensive Google CCwGTV 4k). I wonder why? They sell lots of other Onn-branded electronics. I have one purchased across the border, and it's great, best value among the competitors.
I have the Onn 4K box from the US too and I really like it. I think the decision not to launch the Walmart+ program in Canada (with the Paramount+ strategic partnership) is a big reason why it's not available here yet.

    • It's not just Canada, US too.

It's because they need to have:
      -The pre-pre-BF sale
      -The pre-BF sale
      -The BF sale
      -The BF week sale
      -The post-BF sale (Cyber Moonday!)
-The "BF isn't over yet, there are still 'deals' we swear" sale

      Etc.

Also the past 3-4 years most of the best deals actually come before BF if we're talking computers, electronics. The ones closer to BF tend to be worse, or so I've certainly noticed for years now. So if you see something that's a good deal, don't pass it up thinking it'll get cheaper at BF--it almost certainly won't.
Black Friday is a season, not a day. It hasn't been a "day" in years.
There’s a Black Friday sale in the summer too. Its all year long regular sales!

    • Are these Vanilla Prepaid MC's any good? Do they have an expiration where they start to charge a fee on the balance if not fully spent? Are they reloadable?
I have had no issues with them. No fee after expiration date. They are not reloadable.

      Frequently Asked Questions
      https://www.vanillaprepaid.com/faq
What happens when my Prepaid Card expires
The funds on your card never expire, when the card does. If there is still an available balance on your Prepaid Card at the time that it expires, you can call Customer Care to request that a replacement card be mailed to you.

Are there any fees associated with my Prepaid Card?
Apart from the Activation Fee which is due at the time of purchase, the only other fee applicable to your Prepaid Card is a 2.5% foreign exchange service fee on all transactions made in a foreign currency.

    • Retailers aren't going to be giving away the farm. They're in the business of making a profit and if they're not able to secure any specific stock for the holiday sale, then they're unlikely to have any blockbuster deals or must-buys or no-brainer deals. It's natural that the actual event be it BF or BD, it's quite lacklustre, because they've blown their load already with the pre-event sales to get more foot traffic in the store. And that lead-up is getting earlier and earlier, which results in a poorer and poorer deals on the actual day. It's a vicious cycle. 😕

Retailing has become quite challenging with the supply chain still in chaos and everyone along the supply chain is passing on the cost onto the next level until it is us -- the end user and customer that ends up paying that severely marked-up price so everyone along the supply chain will get their share. Buying anything feels like a highway robbery these days -- even under the guise of BF and BW where we're supposed to be getting the best deal of the year. That was true many moons ago when retailers have excess stock they need to get rid of to make room for new stock and free up some cash flow. Not really anymore with the supply chain barely being able to keep up on its best days with most days of empty shelves. There really isn't that much pressure to offload stock -- because there is no stock to offload.

More and more retailers have stopped price matching, price adjustment and ad matching (even on their own flyer if the item sells for cheaper the next week), and no more rainchecks. They're too big to fail and too big to care. They also don't have the extra capacity they used to in fulfilling stock. Which is understandable, but from a customer's perspective is a real disappointing (to use a more polite term in place of another d-word) move. It's all first come, first served and feels more like a feeding frenzy and battlefield when out shopping for anything these days. Retail is a depressing place.

Not that I want everything to be dirt cheap and rock bottom, but I feel it's harder and harder to get a fair deal and good value. Yes, they are subjective metrics, but let's not mark up anything to oblivion like a bottle of ketchup used to go on sale for $2.99, now it's $4.97 on special.
with zellers gone there isnt anyone walmart is really directly competing with.
Amazon sort of online, but they probably find lowering their prices doesn't necessarily bring amazon customers into the door so might as well keep them high

How is it not the “real” BF when it’s the title of the flyer? They have different products on each week, but each week is a real BF sale.

    • Well manufacturers would have to be sited here.

Third party sellers on Walmart and amazon marketplace are more common - so even Walmart is trying to get further away from brick and mortar.

I don’t think they’ll close them, but pivot into groceries and so on and we will see less hard goods there over time.

This is already happening and a big factor in why we’re seeing less massive deals on electronics etc rather than the post suggesting consumers are ´smarter ´
