      Seagate 2TB Slim external drive. for $69. The price point is great but the reviews aren't positive.

      Can anyone recommend a reliable external drive for backups?
      I have been using Seagate 2TB portables for a while now - no problems.
      Just received the $69 from Best Buy today.
      Staples also has a $69 Seagate in red
      As with any hard drive, they can fail at any time so make sure you have a backup.
      I have also used WD and Toshiba in the past - I'm no longer considering WD because of the direct interface they use rather than a SATA drive and SATA-USB bridge
      I also use a Mac and have never come across any external drives that are not compatible.

    • Price matched my monitor that I purchased on November 16th. Waited 20 minutes in line outside of the store, but took less than a minute at customer service. Asked for receipt and my credit card used to pay and that was it. Very pleasant experience, not sure if this whole price matching Black Friday deals is the product of COVID, but it worked out for my monitor purchase. (had to do it in-store as I purchased my monitor in-store)

      You can always get great deals below those numbers, even at the height of Covid.

      Console prices are absolutely not inflated either. The technology has progressed by a large margin.

    • Ps3 bundles still sold for 160-200 with games as recently as a couple months ago and the divide between an Xbox one X/ps4 and the next Gen is even smaller. I think $250 plus is a great price for 95% of homes
      No that was the Covid bump. You could get a PS3 slim with two controllers and even a couple games sometimes for like $100 - 120. The console alone with a controller was $60-80. Covid bumped up the prices on consoles I guess for some reason.

      Video game prices have inflated tbh. You aren't gonna get a console for less, I plan not to get a PS5 until at least 2022 and I know I'll end up paying at least $500, probably more cos I want a slim version.

      Back in 2010, I got a PS3 slim bundle for $280 and the prices even by then for a lot of AAA games in new condition had dropped to $20 new. We had more retailers back then as well selling them, the current ones + Blockbuster/HMV + Rogers stores + Zellers.

    • Do you guys think the LG OLEDs such as the BX or CX will be cheaper on the actual day? It seems like every retailer that has released their black friday flyers have kept it at the same price. Visions is the only place I see where the sale price for the CX expires on Thursday which makes me think they will discount it further on Friday.
      Doubt it gets any cheaper. Best TV on the market and already extremely hard to find stock anywhere.

    • If last year was any indication - these are the lowest prices.

      Especially with COVID this year and limited people in stores, Best Buy want to be able to sell as many sets as possible - so they price it at BF prices early and let people buy over a couple of days. Way easier than managing a store and having hundreds of people lining up or trying to shop online. I think stock will run out of the CX series at these prices. Costco has already had a hard time getting them in stock (online and stores in Ontario). I had to drive 1.5 hours this week just to pick up the 65OLEDCX. Worth every penny.
      Its going to be the same price, last thing they are going to want is people coming into the store for price matching and have to deal with that
