    • I got this model too at the time, will return to Best Buy. Glad I still have the receipt. Will probably get the Gourmia 7 Quart Digital Air Fryer With Preheat and Turn Reminder from Costco

This looks pretty good. Was thinking of a 2 compartment model as well, any recommendations there? I here the Ninja is popular too.

    • FML mine won't turn off anymore. The timer knob gets stuck just after 5 minutes. I was wondering why my food was taking forever to cook and realized the knob was no longer automatically turning off. Seems like a fire hazard if I wasn't paying attention.

I threw out the box and I have a feeling warranty is going to be a pain in the ass. Going to call next week. It was an amazing fryer otherwise but now I'm left wondering if digital was better.
Ha... wow. Called it over a year ago.

    • I remember this thread was pretty popular last year. I'm pretty sure this model was just recalled for fire risk.

Edit: check the model # on the bottom of unit if it’s a part of this recall. Based on the images I thought it qualified but I might be off.

    • Returned it and bought a Costco one for this main reason. I also heard that the digital version of this model has issues with the controls.
Which one did you get? Can't believe this has so good review when such an obvious flaw.

    • Do you find the timer is not that accurate? I find it shut off faster than timer end.

    • That's not good. Even after wiping everything inside et al like the instruction manual has said, most (not all) of the smell still remains. We use this fryer at least once a week.

    • The teflon is coming off on mine near the little holes which is source of concern for me. Is there a airfryer that has a stainless steel pot or doesn't use teflon? Maybe mine is defective.

      OOS again sadly.
Has there been a better deal out recently? Reviews still good for the people who bought it?
Dont think so. Works great here.

    • As long as you have the receipt, you should be able to claim warranty.
Yeah I just submit a form online, lets see if I hear back this week or next. Hope they don't make me pay for shipping this Hulk back.

    • That video basically convinced me to buy the manual version. I don't want to go through a bunch of default settings every time before I am able to set my own time.
Yes, the design could be better. For me, more accurate timing and temperature control would offset this nuisance but at the same time, adjusting the settings each time (unless you always have it plugged in) one would assume you'd end up wearing out the control panel sooner than later.

    • Wow. I'm surprised to hear this. It's just a digital control unit. Other than that, there shouldn't be much of a difference.

    • I would pay $5 more and get the digital version. But, I'm stuck with the mechanical one. Too bad I can't return it without any restocking fees as I no longer have the box.

    • It's back at 79.99 on bestbuy's BD. For the same price, this one is oven style with rotisserie attachment. Was checking out Instant pot's rotisserie model but that's on sale for 129.99.

Insignia's doesn't have the basket cylinder but decided to try it for the 50$ difference.

    • Air Fryer has this rattling sound every now and then while cooking. Anyone else having this issue? If was also rattling as I took it out of the box. I believe the heating element/coil was rattling a bit out the box so i think that’s happening again when its cooking. Is this normal?

    • I haven't tried mine yet. Are many people getting used ones?
Pretty sure our was new... but box was not in best shape.

Soaked in soapy water for an hour, rinsed and dried.

Then ran twice for about 30 minutes on 400F.

I'll try that, any idea what airfryer from costco he was mentioning in the post I quoted? ty

    • I'm going to complain about mine:
I just received today, box was clearly opened before, when I "re-opened" the box, the plastic is broken, it's a complete mess. Anyone had the same issue? I bought a brand-new one, not open box.

    • For the smell there is tiny little rubber feet in the basket that i took off (either for leveling or just packaging). Once they were off i couldn't smell the burning plastic smell anymore.

      400f x 20 mins

First 2 runs = plastic smell
Run 3 and 4 = no or not detectable plastic smell.

      Per their website:

      Kitchen and dining products
      Return period window:

      30 days
      Accepted return condition:

      Opened

Should be fine, unless it's in non-resalable condition.

    • That's the one we were thinking of grabbing but all locations around us sold out quick on Friday. It's smaller than this one but being dishwasher safe is nice.
Yah I checked a few WM today but no luck. Guess I'll keep the insignia. My main concern is the size really. I'd prefer a smaller fryer.

    • Quick question for the pros here, has anyone cooked a miniature, boxed, frozen, all meat, Butterball Turkey in one of these? They look like they would just fit and its 4 hours in the oven.

We are cooking one in the oven right now and I have ordered this machine to hopefully cook that type of turkey. I'm keeping it either way as it will be used at the lake to cook fresh fish while we
are there. It will be good at something, what I don't know yet! If you have, can you give me the temperature, time to cook and results please? Thanks in advance!
No it wont. Use oven for that

    • I have had good results with frozen stuff. I had bad luck with russett potatoes coated in olive oil. They didn't seem to cook properly. Maybe I didn't coat them with enough oil? Maybe I put too many in the basket? Hard to say...but it was a disaster.
Probably too much potatoes. It shouldn't be multi layered, otherwise covered ones will not cook properly. And do you also shake it in the middle of the cooking as well?
