If you've missed Le Château's absence from the Canadian retail market, then you'll be happy to hear that the brand is set to make its return under new ownership later this month!

In October 2020, the Canadian brand announced the closure of all its stores following a long period of financial struggles. The brand's assets were put on sale in March of this year and in June were purchased by Suzy's Inc., the company behind the retailer Suzy Shier.

Starting November 16, 2021, Le Château will once again begin selling clothing through its website and beginning in spring 2022, customers will be able to shop for Le Château clothing in select Suzy Shier stores. It's unknown if standalone Le Château stores will also make a return at some point.

Le Château was originally founded in 1959 and at the time it announced its closure in fall 2020, operated 123 stores across Canada with over 1400 employees. Suzy Shier was founded in 1966 and operates more than 130 stores across Canada.
